Here is the headline: in 2024 Bangkok topped Euromonitor's global ranking with 32.4 million international arrivals, the single most-visited city on the planet, ahead of Istanbul. Plenty of that crowd is here to go out. You can start the night on a rooftop sky-bar above the skyline, lose a few hours in the backpacker chaos of Khao San Road, and finish in a mega-club that does not stop until the lights come up.
The party scene
Bangkok layers its nightlife: Khao San Road is the cheap, riotous backpacker artery; Sukhumvit Soi 11 and RCA hold the big clubs; Thonglor is the local, upscale end; and the rooftop sky-bars (Vertigo, Lebua's Sky Bar) put the party above the skyline. It's also the launchpad for the islands - most Full Moon trips route through here.
When to go
Bangkok parties year-round, but the cool, dry season (November - February) is the comfortable peak. March - May is punishingly hot; the June - October monsoon is wetter but cheaper and far from a washout for indoor nightlife.
